James Iliff, Pianist at Glyndebourne 1946 -1947 and Composer
On Glyndebourne’s correspondence structure Rudolf Bing writes, 12 January 1948, “As you rightly guess, the first two initials refer to my name, the second two to Janet Moores and the last two are not meant to be an insult, but I gather stand for ‘Glyndebourne Opera’. We have various main headings for filing as, for instance, Glyndebourne Opera; the Edinburgh Festival; the Bath Assembly; the Children’s Theatre; and the correspondence with yourself is preserved for Eternity with the Glyndebourne lot.”
