Moran Caplat writes, 01 February 1949, “Nearly every theatre and opera house that is built particularly in recent years, is unsatisfactory for one reason or another. Very often too much attention is paid to the auditorium and not nearly enough to the stage and its equipment, and also quite often a lot of essential points are sacrificed to make way for some pet theory regarding the relation between stage and audience. I think I am probably right in saying there does not exist anywhere in the world the perfect opera house for all sizes of production, even now.”

Even if they are late, the congratulations are most sincere, and I do hope that you will be very happy in the job.”
