John Christie writes, “Glyndebourne charged no rent and you all lived with us as Guests. We already had a clientele used to buying 20,000 tickets a season. Before we started, therefore, Glyndebourne was offering something of substantial value. At the last meeting with Crozier I made my views as clear as I could that I was not prepared again to finance the tour and that I thought this should be solely the affair of the Arts Council.” - Content event
